Каждый руководитель подготовки эстафеты отвечает за: все мероприятия на местах, включая определение маршрута и составление подробных планов продвижения Олимпийского огня; помощь в планировании праздничных мероприятий, а также работу с факелоносцами и маркетинговыми партнерами эстафеты. Руководитель подготовки эстафеты устанавливает контакты с местными общественными деятелями, чтобы заручиться их помощью и поддержкой в привлечении логистических средств, необходимых для прохождения эстафеты по их территории.

advance manager
Individual who represents the OCOG by organizing the OTR through a particular geographic region, which may include multiple cities and countries. Each Advance Manager is responsible for all field operations, including route planning and mapping exact details and movement of the Olympic flame, helping to plan celebrations, and working with torchbearers and OTR marketing partner(s). The Advance Manager initiates contact with various community leaders to enlist their assistance and support in activating all logistical requirements of the flame passage through their community.
